STEM Ignited is a South African non-profit organisation co-founded by Pretty Tsholofelo Ndlovu and Kopano Ruth Moshoana.
We exist to ignite passion for STEM in young people from township and rural communities who are too often left behind. From the critical stage of Grade 9 — when subject choices can shape their future — through to higher grades, we give learners real-world exposure, confidence in Mathematics and Science, and clear pathways to high-demand careers.
Our mission is to inspire, educate, and empower the next generation of innovators, engineers, and problem-solvers. With a bold vision to develop 1 million STEM professionals by 2033, we bridge the gap between classroom learning and real industry opportunities through hands-on experiences like our STEM Space Career Immersion Days at the South African National Space Agency (SANSA).
Every young person deserves the chance to dream big and succeed in STEM — regardless of where they come from. Join us in creating opportunities for youth to thrive in STEM and be part of the change.
We provide mentorship, training, and resources to empower girls aged 10–18 from underserved communities, helping them unlock their potential and transform into the leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs of tomorrow.

STEM careers are shaping the future, yet youth from under-resourced areas often lack access to the resources and networks necessary to pursue them. We aim to change that—empowering youth to not only participate in but lead the innovation economy.
We empower youth through:
We want to change the world. Why not join us?
